What is the version history of the site?

This web site is an accessory for use with FCS Gaming League. It is intended to be used in conjunction with game supplies provided by the game companies mentioned. It IS NOT intended as a substitute for those materials. This site is maintained by Ford Computing Services of Amsterdam, New York, U.S.A.. Please address any questions to Christopher J. Ford. This site is currently version *Season 11a*.

• Version 1.0 - December 2001 - Established Site
• Version 2.0 - January 2003 - Converted Site to use the theme of Dragons Den
• Version 2.1 - March 2003 - Updated background processing to use library items.
• Version 2.2 - June 2003 - Merged the Campaign and League Sites for easier access to background information.
• Version 3.0 - December 2003 - Some common graphics replaced to optimize download times and PHP support added.
• Version 3.1 - Corrections and Additions to XHTML Comments. Corrections to Spelling and Grammer. Additional changes to standardize formatting of site.
• Version 4.0 - Update to new papyrus format for detail pages. Consolidation of guidelines. Revised merchant pages. Edition 3.5 changes.
• Version 5.0 - Update to a fully PHP site. This will result in minor increases in some page load times, but the benefits and flexibility of the site more than justifies it.
• Season 11a - Updates to policies document including a Coordinator Comment of Copyright Infringement. Update to XHTML 2.0. Update to FCSGL Guidelines.

The print on the web site is too small for me to read. Can you make it larger?

The web site uses relative font sizes whenever possible. This means that if you need the font size to be larger, you can easily do it through your browser. Use your browser's text size feature to increase the font size until you can easily read the text. On MS Internet Explorer you can find the feature under "View --> Text Size".

What browser is best to use with this site?

As of May 26, 2003, the following browsers have been retested with this site. If you use a different browser, and it does or doesn't work with this site, please let the coordinator know. If you run into any problems with these browsers, let the coordinator know. Versions get updated and things change.

The site loads too slowly. Can you speed it up?

There are multiple considerations here. This site lends itself to the use of graphics. There is no way around it. And when you have graphics, it may take a little while to load a page. This site has been tested with both DSL and Dial-Up connections. You should be fine with any of the broadband connections: DSL, Cable, Satellite. If you are having problems, you're most likely using dial-up. The site is designed to load each page within 30 seconds on a dial-up connection at a speed of 50kbps. This is considered a "good" connection speed for a 56k modem. If you are using a slower modem, or your connection speed is less than 50kbps, then the site pages may take longer to load.
