After Kevin summoned the Champions and told them some of what had been learned about the situation on Dannemora, and after a frantic shopping spree, the Champions set out to Dannemora using the Portal. They disposed of the remains of the other spy's horse, dirtied the Portal chamber and took the crystals to hide evidence of its use. Then using a combination of flying, teleporting and running, the Champions proceeded to the army encampment. After sizing up the enemy, and realizing they were just disorganized rabble, the Champions unleashed the fury of great magics and swept the field clear. Those who survived broke ranks and ran as best as they could. After passing through a Forbiddance field, the Champions proceeded to the command tent and demolished it. They searched the wreckage and found Galidus inside a Wall of Force, tied to a travel cot, Dimensional Anchored and in a magical Stupor. Breaking the spells, the Champions then Teleported back to the Temple of Kord and used the Portal to return home triumphant, switching places with the other spy again.
Upon their return, discussion with Kevin and Galidus revealed that the forces had been commanded by a very beautiful and powerful woman named Ysolonna Sararo, whom the troops called Ysolonna the Twisted. She was not a military mastermind, but achieved her command using her wiles and charm. She was also more interested in herself than her troops. She considered herself an Ethereal creature, although she appeared Human, and spent a lot of her time on the Ethereal Plane. She had a bodyguard of five Xill, that also traveled Ethereally. It was concluded that some time during the maelstrom the Champions set upon her encampment, she used her Ethereal travel to leave the scene of the slaughter. Two of her bodyguard did not make it. Galidus had been captured after being invited to Ysolonna's tent and succumbing to her charms.

Upon hearing of the needs of the other Champions after Kevin's briefing, Ruin (Female Gnome Druid 10/Illusionist 10) opened her shop and allowed the other Champions to purchase what they needed for the mission. Once through the Portal, Ruin assisted with the disguising of the Portal room, and then once the Champions reached the edge of the forest, she created an Invisibility Sphere they could all travel overland in. Once the perimeter guard was breached, Ruin was the first through the Forbiddance and the first to enter the command tent and find Galidus. She was unable to reach him, however, due to the Wall of Force.

Whisper (Human Ranger 16), without the married Delde, accompanied the other Champions through the Portal and to the edge of the clearing. Once there, she drew a symbol on the ground following directions Illiri from Team Ghost Wind had given her, and three of Team Ghost Wind Teleported to join them. Once to the encampment, Whisper displayed an unusual loyalty to Ruin, staying inside the Invisibility Sphere with her and then following her into the Forbiddance field and finally into the tent after receiving the all-clear from Ruin. All enemy with any will to fight had been cleared before Whisper was in range, and so her accurate arrows found no targets, but she still fired a few into the darkness where the command tent had been, striking the Wall of Force and falling to the ground blunted and broken.

Making her first appearance, Kristoliana (Aranea Master of Flies 15) displayed unusual bravery by being the first one out of the Invisibility Sphere other than Lyrin from Team Ghost Wind, who had traveled there alone and concealed. Acting as a distraction, moving slowly and visibly toward the guards, she might have succeeded with her ploy had not a sharp-eyed Yuan-Ti Abomination spotted Illiri and Kentrow from Team Ghost Wind trying to hide in the grasses and alerted the other guards. Kristoliana remained out of the range of their javelins until they had all been killed or surrendered. As the Yuan-Ti retired from the field, Kristoliana cast a Creeping Doom upon them, further diminishing their numbers and breaking their spirit.

Following standard operating procedures, all of Team Ghost Wind went through the Portal to Dannemora. Once through, Anak (Dwarf Fighter 5), Ja'Nek (Human Cleric 6/Psion 1), Kenter (Grey Elf Sorcerer 6/Fighter 1), Liz (Human Sorcerer 5), Khevak (Halfling Psion 5) and Thomas (Human Ranger 5) set up camp, while Illiri (Human Sorcerer 17), Kentrow (Human Ranger 4/Psion 3/Rogue 3) and Lyrin (Bard 12) used the symbol Whisper from Team Thunder had drawn for them at the edge of the forest to Teleport and join the others. Lyrin approached the army encampment on foot outside the Invisibility Sphere provided by Ruin from Team Lawn, while the others took advantage of it. When they first stopped, about half a mile from the army camp, their spyglasses proved useful for scoping out the enemy. Then, when battle was joined, Illiri's Sonic Orbs and Fireballs took out almost as many of the unfortunate horde as Phemis from Team Dark Star. Lyrin and Kentrow did their share as well. Lyrin struck up an eerie melody in such a manner that the enemy could not locate him. He sang of the Deity of Pain testing his army before a great battle hoping to lure the military into believing they had to prove themselves. His performance was so great, he believes it still resonates across the land. Meanwhile, his crossbow bolts found their home orc leaders before him. Illiri also dispelled the Forbiddance with an area Dispel Magic, but did not inform anyone of this and so Phemis remained outside. Illiri destroyed the command tent using Telekinetic force, and then soaked it with a Decanter of Endless Water. Once the command tent was breached by Ruin, it was Illiri that dispelled the Wall of Force around Galidus using a Disintegrate. And finally, it was Illiri that Teleported everyone safely back to the Temple to journey home.

- Darkstar (Novice)
Player: Jan Kuhlmann
The second new team to make an appearance on the field this day, Phemis (Male Elf Rogue 4/Sorcerer 6/Arcane Trickster 5) combined the cunning of a rogue with great magical power, hiding near the enemy and using their simple line formations against them, taking out great numbers of them with Lightning Bolts. For all his might, he felt unable to cross the boundary of the Forbiddance, and was thus excluded from the final retaking of Galidus. Still, the success was shared by all, and there is no doubt who took the most enemy lives this day.
