The Situation |
| From reports received from the Search and Rescue mission, it
seems that the Baron has taken the relic for himself. He's been tracked to an
abandoned church, and demonic creatures have been sighted inside, further adding to
the evidence against him. Your mission is to locate the Baron and bring him to
justice, and retrieve the relic.
Outnumbered from the start, the participating teams chose to strike quickly at the
heart of the problem, heading in full force to the most likely location, the
central tower. After several close calls and one brutal encounter with an Epic
level master swordsman, they were surprised to find themselves not only alive, but
actually healing their wounds as they watched. Apparently, even though the
worshipers abandoned the church, the god never had....
No sign of the relic was ever located. When discovered, the Baron had been
studying a book in the top of the tower, but the tome was buried when the floor and
ceilings collapsed, and was not recovered.

- Fetch (Novice)
Player: Mark Jerard
Silver Stroke (Human Male Druid 7 / Bloodhound 8) faced several close calls
during the course of the search. Though he quickly decided to avoid the
Lodestone Golem guarding the ground floor of the church, he wasn't as swift
in evading the elite bodyguards waiting on the second. After discovering
that wild-shaping into a smaller form only makes it easier for your enemy to
grapple you, he finally worked his from the enlarged fat pink-skinned orc's
grip and escaped up the stairs with all speed to roll flaming spheres around
from cover. When faced with the Baron's spectacular swordsmanship, he kept
his head and ripped the floor right out from under Kaneor's feet, sending him
plunging down two stories and creating open opportunities to strike from a
strategic advantage.
Fetch survives to adventure again.
- Twig (Master)
Player: Vanessa Wilcox-Swarez
While Fetch was busy arm-wrestling with the bodyguards, Lisonamit (Wood Elf
Male Druid 20) was already ahead, exploring the next floor. When Fetch
finally managed a half-strangled scream of pain he quickly returned to help,
taking the albino drow psion by surprise, and the two engaged in a high-speed
aerial dogfight of flung fire and energy. Blocking the orc's progress with a
Wall of Thorns, Lisonamit coordinated a burst of concentrated fire and
summoned elementals on the drow, laying the psion low swiftly, and was
waiting with a Harm spell and a swift kick when the orc finally broke free of
the thorns. After Kaneor's two-story fall, he quickly turned the tables and
sent the swordsman falling upwards three stories with a Reverse Gravity. And
Spike Stoned the ceiling. And then turned into a large carnivorous bird and
ate him, ripped the ceiling out, and took the shortcut back outside.
Twig survives to adventure again.
