The Situation

This is a mission that cannot fail. A package is being delivered to King Valor and it must reach its destination on time or all could be lost. Though the king has passed on, he had been told that someone was hired to stop the delivery and recover the package. The Merchants Guild needs you to make sure that the plan still succeeds. You have a map with the three most likely paths that the hired guns will take. You know the beginning point and destination of the caravan. Your job is to intercept the hired guns before they encounter the caravan and capture them if you can, take them out if you have to. For this you will receive 1,000gp each. The award of a ring key will go to those teams that bring back useful information and evidence as to who hired the bandits.

Please Note: This game takes place at the Albacon Convention. The convention has an entry fee. $45.00 at the door for the full con membership ($35.00 if you pay me before 9/6/2002). $15.00 for the gaming-only membership. You are responsible for these fees. There is no additional entry fee for this game. The game is a League game and will count for the purposes of successes, magic, entry into the championship, etc.. Prizes will be given in the form of gift certificates for the dealers room. These will include dollar amounts as well as specific items. Look for future games at Astronomicon.

I would like to point out that if you come for the game on Saturday, your $15.00 entry fee will also get you into several other games that the convention is offering as well as the dealers room. For the minimal extra cost of a day membership, you would also be able to check out the Video, Anime, panels, con suite, art show, extravaganza, masquerade, and other program areas. Registered Teams & Their Fates

The plans of the bandits came to various degrees of uselessness at the hands of the champions. The first bandit team ambushed the caravan right as they emerged from the woods. The caravan guards defeated the bandits in a battle that cost the bandits their lives. As the teams investigated the road, they fell upon a myriad of traps and bandits. It appeared that more than one group of bandits had been laying in wait for the caravan never knowing that it had already been diverted to a safer encampment. The teams did recon and dealt with the individual traps. What seemed to be a signal flare alerted them and they converged on the temporary camp the caravan had made. In the end, the mission was successful and the teams received their rewards.
