In The Works

Monthly Games Moved (Again!)

Beginning January 2008, the monthly games at Flights were moved to the third (3rd) Thursday, instead of the fourth (4th) Monday, in the hope it would foster better attendance. The attempt was unsuccessful. As a result, we will still be comitted to one event a month at Flights, but GMs may schedule it for any evening or weekend that fits their schedule. Remember, all events need to be posted AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to the event. However, earlier is preferred to simplify scheduling and avoid conflicts. It is up to the GM to verify that a venue is available prior to scheduling the game.

A Venue Has Moved

In January, Flights of Fantasy moved to 381 Sand Creek Road. Check their website for updates. Check ours to make sure of where you are going. GMs are still encouraged to hold events at a variety of venues as your schedule permits.

Events for 2008

The dates for the SWA Game-A-Thons, Council of Five Nations, the Flights Game Days, UBCon, Albacon, and BadCon will soon be posted to the left. GMs are needed for all open dates as we are committed to most of these events. We especially need GMs for upcoming conventions. Remember, if you are not already an approved GM, your first game must be attended by an existing approved GM. As a general rule, if an event is listed to the left as "Open", we are obligated to the event and need a GM for it. Please volunteer if your schedule permits.

FCSGL Policies

The Policies Statement is available on-line. Members and Users of this site are reminded that they have agreed to the statement by participating in events or using this site. In compliance with FCSGL existing policy, any changes to the statement will be effective 30 days from the posting date.

Rule Changes

Remember to occasionally check out the page for rules changes that will become effective next season. Everybody is expected to comply with them. A new rulebook will be offered in PDF form to replace the one currently on the website. It will include all rules changes up through Season 14. It should be available in July 2008. The following decisions have been made and will take effect with the first game of Season 13. (1) Only characters of a corresponding level can be fielded. For example, only characters up through level 8 can be fielded for a Beginner Level game. For example, only characters levels 8 - 14 can be fielded for a Novice level game. Etc.. (2) The XP Penalty has been dropped.

A Note on Evil Characters

The League has no objection to players including evil characters on their teams. However, it is up to the player to come up with a legitimate reason for it. There are perfectly valid reasons why someone would do "good deeds" and still be evil. Just because the deed is "good" doesn't mean the motivation is. Are you spying on the forces of good? Are you after profit? Does helping them with their goals help you with some other goal? Are you helping to eliminate the "competition"? In any case, it IS NOT appropriate to simply cause chaos during sessions simply because you are evil. If this is your plan, then do not include the character on your team. The other teams are perfectly justified in eliminating your character in these circumstances and you are wasting game play.

D&D Savage Tide campaign - Looking for Player(s)
Posted by Steve Warfield
Location: Personal Residence

As one of the players has to back out owing to personal issues, we are hoping to find another (one or more) to join the Iron Gamers Guild in the D&D Savage Tide adventure path that was from the pages of Dungeon. Or maybe it was Dragon. I forget, but as I'm not the DM I'm not too concerned.

In any event, if interested check out the Iron Gamers Guild wiki (http://irongamersguild.wikidot.com/) for more info as to how the campaign has progressed so far, what rule variants we are using and how to contact us if interested.
Oh, we play on Tuesdays from ~6:30 to 10, 11-ish in the evening, but that is somewhat flexible depending on what everyones' schedules are like for any given week.

Page Last Updated May 5, 2008

Note: Postings are updated each month or when a new event is posted. Session numbers are not fixed until after the event. We are always looking for new players and GMs. Stop by a session and we'll be glad to help you get started. Membership is FREE.
